Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
RiceCaliper is operated by Himanshu AgriTech Ventures, a proprietorship based in India ("RiceCaliper", "we", "us", or "our").
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use RiceCaliper, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you.
By creating an account or using RiceCaliper, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect information that is necessary to provide and improve RiceCaliper.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, mobile number, password, and one-time passwords (OTP) used for authentication. You may also choose to provide your email address, company or business name, business address, and GSTIN. Company, address, and GSTIN information may be used for generating invoices and maintaining appropriate business records.
Rice sample images and analysis data. When you use RiceCaliper to analyse a rice sample, the image you submit is uploaded to our servers for processing. Depending on the features available in your version of RiceCaliper, we may generate and store rice grain counts, whole and broken grain measurements, grain dimensions, chalky or discoloured grain information, other quality characteristics, analysis results and reports, sample or batch information you enter, and dates, times, remarks, or other information associated with an analysis. Your historical analyses and reports may remain available in your RiceCaliper account so that you can review them later.
Calibration sheet downloads. RiceCaliper's printed calibration sheet carries a unique identifier. When you download a calibration sheet, we record that identifier together with your account (or, if you are not signed in, an anonymous device identifier) and the date of download, so that a later analysis can be linked back to the specific printed sheet it was taken on. This is used for quality and troubleshooting purposes only — for example, to identify a specific printed sheet if it is damaged or defective — and is not used to determine who physically took a photograph, since a printed sheet may be shared, reused, or handed to someone else after it is downloaded.
Payment information. Payments made through RiceCaliper are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your complete card, bank account, UPI, or other payment credentials on our own servers. Payment information may be handled and, where supported, securely stored by the payment service provider according to its own policies and terms.
2. How we use your information
We may use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your RiceCaliper account
Authenticate your account and send OTPs
Provide rice analysis and generate reports
Maintain your analysis history
Provide customer support and assistance
Help you use RiceCaliper correctly and effectively

Comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
3. Rice sample images and AI/model improvement
RiceCaliper uses computer-vision and AI-based technology to analyse rice samples. To continuously improve the accuracy of our analysis, rice-sample images submitted to RiceCaliper may be retained and used to improve our analysis algorithms and models.
For example, if our system incorrectly identifies a rice grain, misses a grain, or identifies a fragment or other object as a grain, the relevant data may be used to improve the system and reduce similar errors in the future. This means that your submitted rice-sample images may contribute to improving RiceCaliper's technology over time.
We do not sell individual rice-sample images to third parties.
4. Your business and analysis data
We understand that rice analysis results, sample information, quality measurements, and related business information may be commercially confidential. We do not sell or publicly disclose your individual analysis reports or business data.
Authorised RiceCaliper personnel may access account, analysis, or sample information when reasonably necessary to:
Provide customer support
Troubleshoot technical issues
Investigate incorrect analysis results
Improve the performance and accuracy of RiceCaliper
Help customers understand and use the service
Maintain security and prevent misuse
We take reasonable steps to limit such access to legitimate business purposes.
5. Aggregated and anonymised data
We may create and use aggregated, statistical, or anonymised information derived from the use of RiceCaliper, such as trends by rice variety, geographic or state-level trends, quality characteristics and trends, statistical analysis of rice samples, and general usage and product-performance trends. Such information is designed so that it does not identify a particular customer or individual.
We may use, publish, share, license, or commercially use aggregated and anonymised information for purposes including research, analytics, benchmarking, industry insights, product development, and other legitimate business purposes.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information or individual rice-sample images to third parties.

RiceCaliper does not use your mobile number to sell or distribute your personal information to unrelated third parties.

Rice sample images and analysis data may be retained for product and model improvement purposes.
You may delete individual reports or other data where the relevant RiceCaliper feature allows you to do so. Certain information, including information required for legal, tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes, may need to be retained even after you request deletion of your account.
11. Deleting your account and data
You may request deletion of your RiceCaliper account and associated data by contacting us at [email protected].
When we receive a valid deletion request, we will take reasonable steps to delete the data associated with your account, subject to information that we are required or permitted to retain under applicable law or for legitimate legal, accounting, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. For example, certain mobile-number, GST, invoice, and payment-related records may need to be retained for legal or accounting purposes.
Deletion of your account may mean that you can no longer access your previous reports or use certain RiceCaliper services associated with that account.
12. Children's privacy
RiceCaliper is designed for business and professional users and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of providing a child-oriented service.
